This bathroom is a little too prison-like but the simplicity is inspiring and definitely makes things easier to maintain. Those who follow the blog already know that I love exposed plumbing (here and here.)

Pretty rustic
Nice laid-back elements: that stone wall, cozy couch, kilim rug, cool distressed leather chair, that old basket used for lighting, cabinets...etc, too many to count.

Humility
Humble and calm interiors. I love the natural textures, and that simple floor bed!

Bathrooms with character
A very casual use of colorful rustic tiles and easy going paint application make for relaxing bathrooms.

Bathe outside
I love that flooring, it would feel so cool under bare feet. The concrete plastered walls are quite nice, too. And with that large window, showering in this bathroom would feel almost like showering outdoors.

Live simply, be happy!
Really nice and cozy summer house. A lot of inspiration for creating an easy-going relaxing and simple living. Kilim rugs and pillows outside really make the outdoors more livable and those shade cloths are really cool, too. Lots of light in the bathroom and those rustic mirror frames all add to the cozy and cheerful feel.

Personality goes a long way
There are some details I don't like here, like that blue couch in the living room, but overall I love the combination of industrial and comfortable. The industrial elements give the place a lot of personality and also create a low maintenance place, while the place over all still feels cozy and warm.

Anna Kern
Photographer Anna Kern has some pictures of cool and casual interiors in her portfolio. Notice: the paint in that kitchen in the first image, the unpainted stairs in the second image, and the bare light bulbs in the third (cfl bulbs look better bare!)

Cushy!
Chris Cushingham of Cush Design Studio created an easy-going loft apartment for himself with a tight budget. There is quite a bit I like in there; like the exposed concrete wall behind the bed, the exposed power lines, the bare concrete floors, and some of the furniture he built himself, like that coffee table. You could build something similar with a few wooden pallets...

Mediterranean wabisabi!
Ah, the Mediterranean art of living... Easy-going, natural, resourceful, in-peace with the passage of time and it's effects, humble and imperfect but still luxurious and beautiful.

Fancy camping-like
With concrete walls, concrete floors, lots of plants, lots of access to outdoors, and an unpretentious/utilitarian set up, life in this house by architect Ken Meffan is almost like being in a fancy camp ground. I like that! Hey, there are even rocks indoors!

Great walls and a solid table
Those walls are quite nice... And the table seems like a solid piece that would age well. I am not generally a fan of bench style seats since they don't have backs and they're not as mobile as single chairs are.

Kitchens
Here's some kitchen inspiration... The first has great wood cabinets with knots and various colorings, and a very simple back-splash made of some cool tiles.

And this second one has great concrete floors, bare concrete walls, and a giant slab of wood for an island. Very cool, easy-going and low maintenance. I prefer smaller kitchens, this is almost a professional size kitchen, a bit of an overkill if you ask me in a domestic setting, but the ideas are great!

Go easy!
There is quite a bit of inspiration in this place; the cool stone floors, lively colors, the simple and sparse furnishings, generous use of white (makes for a brighter home,) a dining table with mismatched chairs, and the overall easy-going feel!

Simple & Fantastic Beach House
Wow! An outdoor shower, concrete floors, bathroom with a great view and casual/comfortable dining indoors and outdoors! What a place!

Ron Mann, oh man!
The following are pictures of the California Beach house by the designer Ron Mann. I love the rough exterior walls, gravel on the ground, and how he just used a few large rocks and self-sustaining xeriscape plants in the yard - even though I usually prefer lush and wild yards. Everything is low-maintenance, if not no-maintenance, and great looking.

Below - Even some of the interior walls have been left without paint, showing off the rough concrete instead of hiding it.
