Amazing shots of easy-going exteriors... That green roof and the shade"sail" (or cloth) are amazing. Fabric is always an effective, practical, and inexpensive way to create shade and it has a great casual look. And that shower... not the most attainable set-up but there's definitely some inspiration there!

Simple & Fantastic Beach House
Wow! An outdoor shower, concrete floors, bathroom with a great view and casual/comfortable dining indoors and outdoors! What a place!

Spending lots of time outdoors is a necessary part of an unpolished life - and who wouldn't with outdoor spaces like these...
Above - Tree branches for banisters without the log cabin look...
Above and below - I know that the need for insulation makes this not a very wise decision in colder climates, but I love it when the structure of the roof is visible up above - which is usually the case in patios.
Both images are from Piet Boon's website - from his Bonaire Beach House 1.

Stone walls, gravel on the ground, and what looks like low-water-use plants that were allowed to grow to their natural shapes and sizes. All are low maintenance, giving the residents more time to enjoy life.
Around covered patios fabric is ideal for extra shade; inexpensive (no fancy structure to build), easy to live with (just wash if dirty, remove in winter,) and looks great as it moves with every breeze.
