Color is a good addition to life and our environments. Most often we are more likely to have a lack of color and patterns rather than an excess of them, so brighten up your spaces with some color and patterns. Colorful tiles are a great way of making spaces more lively and chevron patterns are easy way to add a good dose of character and visual interest.

Beauty & utility of using broken tiles
Broken tiles can look amazing! If you have broken tiles no need to throw them away. You or someone else can create beautiful and useful spaces with them. It is great when such value (& beauty) is created from what some might consider trash.
Broken tiles add a lot of character and an easy-going, relaxed flair wherever they are used.
I posted about broken tiles before. If you'd like to see more broken tile inspiration, just search "broken tiles" in the search bar on the right column.

Relaxing rooms with character
A little wear and tear is inevitable so it's best to cherish it. It adds character to living spaces. It's what makes a place a home, and let's the people in it relax a little.

Casual barrel pool & painted bathroom walls
Casual + natural + colorful = beautiful, practical, easy-going.
I am not sure how long painted bathroom walls would last with so much exposure to water, but the idea of easily applying a new coat definitely has its appeal, and the example here looks amazing with a touch of stoic, humble, & authentic.

Sophisticated casual
Casual decor does not have to be like a dorm room. When done right, casual is sophisticated and mirrors the elegance of modesty and natural beauty.

Cool & unpretentious is a hard combo
Great images portraying an unpolished life with natural and minimally processed materials (or ingredients!)
Notice the lighting, the counter, and the rough wall in the bathroom. Everything about the patio shot with the hammock is great, the ingredients, the bread, and the cutting board are cool in the 3rd shot, and the flooring, the brick wall, and those double doors are really nice in the bottom shot. Enjoy!

Elegant white rooms
I usually prefer more color and variety than monochrome palettes in any hue. But these white rooms (& the one exterior) are quite nice!

Cozy & natural
Natural materials, colors, and textures almost always add charm and make any setting more cozy and relaxing. I think there's something inherently calming, and soothing about having nature (or reminders of it) around, that everyone, regardless of their stylistic preferences, respond in a positive way to it's influence.

Simple shower
This bathroom is a little too prison-like but the simplicity is inspiring and definitely makes things easier to maintain. Those who follow the blog already know that I love exposed plumbing (here and here.)

Rustic bathroom
I don't usually like spaces/rooms where every detail is on the same theme. It makes the place feel less homey and more like a Disney-esque theme ride. This bathroom below is an example of that feel - other than the towels the place seems more like the bathroom of a restaurant rather than a home but still, there is some good inspiration here.

House plants make things better
Plants, and anything natural really, tend to make spaces more lively, cozy, and relaxing.

Rustic vanity and living room
These spaces are both amazing! Great textures! Especially love that stone sink, the tarnished faucets, and the wood stand in that bathroom.

Rustic sink & armchair
Great distressed leather armchair, and a great view! That kilim cushion on the floor is quite nice as well. That giant floor lamp must be a conversation piece! That farm sink in the second image is pretty cool too.

Cozy eclectic bathrooms
I don't care for it when people go way too far out of their ways to create "witty" eclectic decors but these bathrooms are quirky enough to have great character and are still grounded enough to be unpretentious and cozy. Enjoy!
