Easy-going paint jobs

I'm all for casually applied, faded paint. Such surfaces will hide imperfections well, have a lot of character, and look even better over time. They make maintenance easier as well. Since they age well you won't need to repaint as often, and if a spot gets especially dirty or stained, you can dry-brush some paint just to that area instead of doing the whole wall. And if that section ends up being a little lighter/darker, that just adds to the overall effect.
