Scorched Wood

I usually prefer the natural color of wood, but if you're interested in something darker or more dramatic scorching also preserves and highlights the grain quite well.

  1. Can I use a heat gun to scorch wood? I've used a torch with mixed results, but I'd like something that gives me more control when lightly scorching.

    1. The results would depend on the type of wood but on some you would get good results. It would definitely be worth a try.

  2. Furniture made from bolivian rosewood would be more expensive than that made from palisander and furniture made from imported red beech is more expensive than that made from domestic red beech.
